<p>After his home was taken for Rs 1 crore last Saturday, Vadodara Police booked the former coach of the Indian women’s cricket team, Tushar Arothe. According to media sources, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Vadodara retrieved a large mound of cash that was kept in “grey bags” from Arothe’s home in the Pratapgunj neighborhood of the city.</p>

<p>Additionally, it was alleged that two of the coach’s associates had almost Rs 38 lakhs taken by the police. The procedure took place on March 2, a Saturday. Arothe is the same coach who led the Indian women’s team to the final of the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup. Since leaving his position in 2018, he has been connected to many criminal charges.</p>
<p>In a press statement on Sunday, SOG Inspector VS Patel briefed the media on the operation. The inspector reportedly said, “We arrived at Arothe’s house after learning that a substantial sum of money had arrived there,” according to a Times of India story. We discovered a sack containing Rs 1.01 crore in cash. We also discovered an additional Rs 38 lakh from his two associates.</p>
<p>The inspector went on to say that the person who had given him the money was Arothe’s son. “Rishi, Arothe’s son, had sent him the money,” he continued. When we asked Arothe about the money on Sunday, he was unable to provide us with an adequate response. Thus, we confiscated the money and reported it to the Sayajigunj police station under CrPC 102.</p>
<p>The Vadodara Police have not yet brought Tushar Arothe or his friends into custody. The former cricket player would have to make his case and provide an explanation for how he got the money, however, in court. Arothe has already encountered legal issues as a result of financial scandals. The former coach was detained in April 2019 at a nearby café along with eighteen other individuals on suspicion of being a part of an Indian Premier League (IPL) betting ring. They were placing bets on a game between the Delhi Capitals and the Kings XI Punjab. The judge eventually granted bail to each and every one of the defendants.</p>
<p>Regarding Tushar Arothe’s cricket career, the former all-round player has represented Baroda in 51 List-A and 114 First-Class matches. In first-class cricket, the player has amassed 6105 runs and claimed 225 wickets for Baroda. In 2003, he declared his retirement from competitive play. Five years later, in 2008, he became a coach for the Indian women’s team. In 2018, he left his job due to a disagreement with his boss.</p>
