The fact that Tsitsipas, 24, has joined the men’s singles category in addition to the men’s doubles and mixed doubles competitions may be the most intriguing aspect of his trip to the SW19 this year.

Doubles for men

Stefanos Tsitsipas and his younger brother Petros Tsitsipas will compete on the doubles match on the lush WD grass in an effort to win their first major title as a duo.

When asked how it feels to be playing with his 22-year-old brother in the most important tennis events, Stefanos recalled the difficulties and obstacles the brothers had to face on the way to SW19.

The 24-year-old remarked, “It’s a dream come true.

Since we were little children, my brother and I have dreamed of playing on this court, he said.

“We are from a little village in Athens, and we weren’t given anything. It has to be earned. We are quite proud of this moment,” he said in a confident manner.

When the Tsitsipas twins compete against the French team of Luca Van Assche and Arthur Fils, they begin their attempt at the men’s doubles championship.

Pairs of mixed

Tsitsipas, who will be accompanied by his girlfriend Paula Badosa, will also be visible in the men’s doubles and gentlemen’s singles, proving that the blame doesn’t only lie with those divisions.

Badosa, a fantastic player in her own right who is now rated 35 in the WTA rankings, is a Spaniard who achieved a career-high singles position of world number 2 in 2022.

After making their relationship public in recent weeks, the pair has gained media attention. This year, they want to contend for the mixed doubles championship at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

On July 7, the pair, known as TsitsiDosa, will begin their battle in the picture against the American team of Austin Krajicek and Jessica Pegula.
