Asia Cup 2023: Crisis on India vs Pakistan match, big blow to PCB!

Share

The whole world waits for the India vs Pakistan cricket match. Although Team India and Pakistan team face each other only in ICC and ACC tournaments, but now the matter seems to be stuck regarding this too. Asia Cup 2023 is to be held from the first week of September this year, but neither the venue nor the schedule has been decided yet. The important thing is that it is not yet clear that which teams will play in the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, such a news is coming out regarding the match between India and Pakistan, due to which not only the fans of India and Pakistan, but also the cricket fans of the whole world may feel disappointed. There may not be an India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup.

If the latest reports regarding the Asia Cup are to be believed, then it is known that it may now be held in Sri Lanka, not in Pakistan or UAE. That is, apart from Pakistan, the Asia Cup will go to Sri Lanka. Keep in mind that here we are not talking about the hybrid model proposed by Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board has introduced a hybrid model, in which it has been said that matches of Pakistan and other teams in the Asia Cup can be held in Pakistan, while all the matches of Team India will be held at a neutral venue.

Actually all this happened during the final of IPL. When all the top BCCI officials were in Ahmedabad and except Pakistan, the rest of the cricket board officials were called there. It is believed that during this time it was decided that the Asia Cup should be held in Sri Lanka. Due to this Pakistan is completely isolated. However, ICC officials are currently in Pakistan and they are trying to send the Pakistani team to India in the ODI World Cup 2023. If the Asia Cup is held in Sri Lanka and Pakistan is not a part of it, then there is a high possibility that PCB may also refuse to send its team to India for the ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, according to the Pakistani media, the ICC is ready to finalize the settlement agreement between the BCCI and the PCB.

Meanwhile, another report also claimed that except Pakistan, the rest of the ACC members have agreed to host the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. The report quoted sources as saying that the PCB will be clearly informed about the decision in the next meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Pakistan’s condition has become such that even after getting the hosting of the Asia Cup, the PCB has miserably failed to garner support for its proposal. After this, now there is no option left but to follow the decision of holding the tournament in Sri Lanka or to withdraw it completely.
