Yashasvi Jaiswal Shines as RR Get Back to Winning Form

Share

Yashasvi Jaiswal hailed his diligence and the skills he learned from conversing with more experienced players like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli after his 77-run exhibition helped Rajasthan Royals defeat Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs. Even CSK captain Dhoni commended Jaiswal for his performance, which helped lay the groundwork for the Royals to score 202/5 while holding the Yellow Army to 170/6 in response.

When questioned by Murali Karthik which of his two Player of the Match victories in the IPL 2023 season was more memorable, Jaiswal said that he liked both of them.

When questioned about his preparation for the IPL 2023 season at the post-match presentation ceremony, Jaiswal claimed that he was just continuing the hard work he had been doing in previous seasons, which had paid off for him.

“I liked both,” he said when asked which POTM award he preferred. The wind direction was something I was conscious of while attempting to smash the ball, but I was also focused on making excellent cricketing strokes, according to the 21-year-old.

Jaiswal took calculated chances and played some terrific cricket, according to MS Dhoni's post-game remarks, while the Royals' opening batsman said that he was only picking up lessons from chatting to some of the more experienced players.

He said, “I have been working with the team management and I keep chatting to veteran players like Dhoni sir and Virat bhai. It is not only about this season.

I want to be there when there is pressure because I like pressure. We need 200 people to defend on this surface, and all I was thinking about was keeping my strike rate high,” Jaiswal said.

Rajasthan Royals, who were competing in their 200th match, made sure to win their maiden game in Jaipur during IPL 2023 and doubled up on CSK after defeating Dhoni's team earlier this year by three runs.

The Royals, who now have 10 points from 8 games, have surpassed CSK to take the top spot in the IPL 2023 points table. The Yellow Army was tied for third place with RR and Gujarat Titans on points, but they had a worse net run rate.
