ResetWell Plus Founders Swati Singh and Reshma Tiwari: Menopause May Be India’s Most Overlooked Marriage Challenge

ResetWell Plus Founders Swati Singh and Reshma Tiwari: Menopause May Be India’s Most Overlooked Marriage Challenge

Mumbai: Menopause may be one of the most overlooked challenges affecting Indian marriages today, with its emotional, psychological and physical impact continuing to go largely unrecognised within families, say ResetWell Plus co-founders Swati Singh and Reshma Tiwari.

The founders believe that while millions of women experience hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause, the lack of awareness among spouses and family members often leads to misunderstanding, communication breakdowns and emotional distance, making menopause not just a women’s health issue but a family and relationship issue.

“Menopause is not just a women’s issue. It is a family conversation,” says Swati Singh, author, wellness advocate and co-founder of ResetWell Plus. “Women spend their lives nurturing everyone around them, but during perimenopause and menopause, many are left navigating one of the biggest hormonal transitions of their lives completely alone.”

In India, the scale of the issue is significant yet under-discussed. According to estimates, over 130 million Indian women are currently in the menopausal age group, with the average age of menopause in India being around 46–47 years—earlier than in many Western countries. Studies suggest that nearly 70–80 percent of Indian women experience menopausal symptoms, yet a majority do not seek medical or emotional support due to stigma, lack of awareness and limited access to specialised care.

Today, more than 1.1 billion women globally are either in perimenopause, menopause or approaching it, yet millions continue silently battling symptoms such as exhaustion, anxiety, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalance, brain fog, emotional burnout and loss of confidence without adequate awareness or support.

Swati believes the biggest gap is not merely medical but emotional.

“If a man wants a stronger family ecosystem, he needs to understand and support his wife through perimenopause and menopause,” she says. “Women are often expected to continue functioning normally while their bodies, emotions, sleep cycles and hormones are undergoing massive changes. Understanding creates compassion. Compassion creates healthier homes.”

For Swati, the mission emerged from personal experience after navigating severe menopause symptoms while living in the United States.

Standing beside her is Reshma Tiwari, a senior corporate finance leader with one of the world’s leading global professional services firms, mother of two, competitive pickleball enthusiast and co-founder of ResetWell Plus.

“The biggest misconception is that women should simply ‘adjust’ through menopause quietly,” says Reshma Tiwari. “But when symptoms like sleep disruption, anxiety, hormonal imbalance and brain fog go unsupported, they affect not only women, but relationships, communication, emotional stability and entire family dynamics.”

Raised by a physician father and having watched her own mother silently endure menopause without emotional support or awareness, Reshma says generations of women were conditioned to suffer in silence.

“When we launched ResetWell Plus, my mother told me, ‘I wish this had existed ten years earlier.’ That sentence stayed with me because it represents millions of women who silently endured without understanding what they were experiencing.”

What began as two personal journeys evolved into ResetWell Plus, a platform offering expert-led education, honest conversations, community support, podcasts, webinars, wellness events and personalised hormonal and non-hormonal wellness solutions for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.

The founders say their mission extends beyond helping women manage symptoms. They want families, especially husbands and partners, to better understand what women experience during this life stage.

“When men understand perimenopause and menopause better, families become emotionally healthier,” says Reshma. “Women feel seen instead of dismissed. Relationships improve. Communication improves. Empathy improves.”

Swati adds, “Women are expected to carry emotional labour throughout life—from periods to childbirth to menopause. The least society can do is stop making women suffer through these transitions in silence.”

Through ResetWell Plus, Swati Singh and Reshma Tiwari hope to replace silence with awareness, science, compassion and community—believing that stronger marriages and healthier families begin with understanding one of the most significant yet least discussed transitions in a woman’s life.
